1. She started her boxing training at the age of 12 after having decided to join the local Hartlepool Headland club with her friends in a bid to work on her fitness.
2. In May 2017, Floyd Mayweather announced in a press conference that he had signed Savannah on her first professional contract with his Las Vegas-based promotion.
3. She has been called “Silent Assassin” because of her shy and introverted nature, and her aggressive boxing style.
4. Before she got into boxing, she was pretty fond of playing soccer. However, she played it just for fun and didn’t have any sporty ambitions.
5. In 2006, at the age of 15, she made her international debut and within 2 years, she had become Junior ABA Champion.
6. After the 2012 World Championships, she was diagnosed with a torn tendon in her hand due to which she had constant swelling in one of her hands during the tournament. She had to take injections to go through her bouts.
7. Before the 2016 Rio Olympics, she was awarded the Sky Academy Sports Scholarship, which was awarded to 12 exciting young British athletes to help them achieve their goals at the Olympics.
8. When she won 2012 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in China, she became the first female champion from Great Britain.
9. She holds the distinction of being the only boxer to have overcome American boxer, , at the 2012 London Olympics.
10. She has got a tattoo on the left side of her torso to celebrate her success at the 2016 Rio games.
